mini 14 and best scope and why

Looking for a new ranch rifle scope. Mainly 100 to 150 yards and at targets. Wondering what would be the best for the bang and hold up under the beating of a mini 14. Thanks for the help. Not looking for the most expensive, just a good descent scope. Novice in this area. Thanks again.

I just bought one of the new Redfield scopes in 2x-7x. I love it and it wasn't much over a hundred bucks. Nice warranty. Clear glass. Made in America.

I thought Redfield went under years ago. I have one of their spotting scopes, love it. There was talk that if I ever had a problem I was in trouble. Hope not.

Redfield Riflescopes, Rangefinders, Binoculars and Spotting Scopes

A division of Leupold and Stevens if that matters to you at all.

I just purchased a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 from Cabelas for $99 to put on my mini. I have no idea how it will hold up but the scope appears to be of high quality.

K6 Weaver. Fixed power. Not a lot of money. Enough magnification, Decent glass. Simple and tough.

Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5-20x50mm at MidwayUSA for good prices ($99-$119 most of the time). I've got one on my Mini and, so far, so good. Holds zero well (at least on .223, haven't tried it on the Mosin yet), adjustable objective lens, clear optics, and very affordable. Haven't had a chance to shoot it distances longer than 100 yards yet, but I was looking at Jupiter's moons at max magnification through it not too long ago. Clear and sharp picture.

A buddy's got a new Redfield 3-9x50 on his .30-30 levergun and loves it. He also has a Nikon ProStaff BDC on another one of his long guns and loves it, too.

Yes, it does matter. I have quite a few Leupold scopes I use for benchrest shooting. Their warranty is the best.
Thanks

I saw this Vortex scope

Vortex 6-24x50 Crossfire Rifle Scope

mentioned in another discussion earlier today and when I saw the price I had to order it even though I don't have a need for another scope right now. Now I'll just have to find a rifle for it and the gun show this weekend. I have a red dot on my Mini-14 SHTF rifle but have been toying around with the idea of building a Mini-14 target rifle and this would be the scope I'll use.

Question

I went to the redfield website. Love the scope prices. From what I see above the mini-14 does not kill this scope. Amazing. Question? Will the Redfield Revolution 4-12x40mm fit on the factory ruger scope rings and not interfer with the gun , ejector and or scope?

Tracer is an unknown quantity at this point
9mm I put a Leupold 3 x 9 on my buddy's mini-14 and I also installed a Leupold VX-2 in 2 x 7 power on my wife's Mini-14. It gives a very wife field of view on 2 power and still lets her hit gallon size jugs at 250 yards on 5 power.

I use the 3x9x50 bdc prostaff on my dpms A-15 and its held up great for the last year probably 300 rds of 5.56, and use the 4x12x40 bdc buckmaster nikon on my Mini 14T and capable of sub moa groups at 100yards with 40grain vmax hornady. Way better than the others in that price range. Crisp and clear. Best bang I have found for the money usually in the $200 range. Nikons are great!
