Can you clarify if you're talking about a laser or an actual red dot sight?

There's many options for lasers for your LC9 in your price range. Maybe someone will chime in with their personal experiences with those options.

Not a laser. A red dot sight.

Just to double check, you're asking about an LC9 handgun and not a PC9 carbine?

Yes, a red dot sight on an LC9 handgun.

Not easily. You will need a gunsmith.

Closest thing would be to modify the heck out of something like this: https://shop.cz-usa.com/productdetai...novak-dovetail

The real question is why do you want to mount a red dot sight on a pistol that was designed for concealed carry defensive use?

Galloway Precision produces an optics mounting plate that replaces the rear sight, so you don't have to have the slide milled. According to their website, it is compatible with the Burris Fastfire, JPoint, and Shield Mini-Reflex sites. I have not tried it and actually created a thread before seeing this one. I don't know much about red dots, so I don't know if others will fit on as well. All 3 of the sights listed retail for > $200. The other option would be to have the slide milled, but that would cost about $125.

I don't yet have enough posts to be able to be able to share a link. The item is listed under LC9S Performance Parts on gallowayprecision dot com

There is also a video on YouTube that explains how to install it--search on "LC Seris Optic Mount " (sic).

Hope this helps.

Because the LC9's sights are tiny--especially if you are accustomed to Meprolights. Either that, or to take the piss out of USPSA Carry Optics
