Question New Model Blackhawk Front Sight Off

Hi. I have a New Model Blackhawk Convertable, blued, 357/9mm that I bought new. I have had it about a year, tons of rounds through it (mostly the 9mm... accurate as all get out...) this might sound dumb that I did not get this fixed right away, but since I have had it, the front sight blade is bent to the right.

So much so, that whoever at Ruger set the gun up, the adjustable rear sight is cranked all the way over to the right to center the front sight. When I aim the gun, as long as the sight picture is correct, it goes where I am aiming BUT, that crooked front sight blade always bugs me.

Is it an easy fix to straighten it myself? I hate to send it back to Ruger, I don't know how long it would take, and I'm always leary it'll come back with something else not right on it, if that makes sense. Fix one thing, and mess up the looks of it or something.

I'd sure appreciate any input as to get the front blade straight.

Have you heard of this problem from the factory on other Rugers?

I have a stainless Single Six Convertable that I sware the "Flattop" part of the frame looks as if it is ground/finished not level. I have held it perfectly straight and put a bubble level on top of the flattop of the gun and it shows level, but aiming the gun something looks off to me... that is another one of my favorite shooters, very accurate and all, but just one of those things you notice once, and then every time after that you go to shoot it and you keep thinking about whether there's a problem with it or not...

Thanks for any input!!

Based on the front sight being "bent" to the right, and having to adjust the rear sight all the way to the right to allign the sight picture, I would wonder if the barrel hasn't been threaded completely into the frame, and is plumb with the frame. I would return the gun to Ruger and have it checked out.
