| SP101 and new sights
Hi,
My first time here and my first post! I just bought a SP101 and I see it has a pinned front sight. Has anyone ever replaced it? I have a S&W 60 and it too has pinned fronts and I was able to put XSights on it. Has anyone put XSights or Hi Viz sights on the front of the SP101?
Thanks,
Chuck

I guess the rear sight notch does look like a pair of ears .
Hard to get a decent pic in a darkened room......

I added the trijicon to my sp101 but i guess it got broke at some time so i need to get a new one. I may go with the metrolight since that way I don't have to drill the hole, which may have been what ruined the trijicon.

Still got to break out the drill and punch.

I put a Gemini FO front on mine. Looks great in the woods, not impressed otherwise. But I don't have a machine shop and great clamps so may have screwed it up a bit in the installation. Redneck and Corum aren't the only one's, eehhh?
Stay safe.

I actually did some sight swapping tonight.
While that Trijicon sight in the pic above shows up OK at night it looks the same in the day as the regular sight (which I'm not really a fan of). I ordered 2 sets of Meprolights a few days ago and they came in today.
I took the Trijicon off of my 2.25" .357 and replaced it with a Meprolight. I swapped my wife's 3" SP101's factory sight for a Meprolight. I then put the Trijicon on my 4" SP101 .22LR (I figured what the hell at least it'll allow me to do some low light practice on the cheap).
I'll snap some comparison pics in the next few days or so. I will say that the Meprolights with the white outline around the tritium vial show up much better in daylight than the Trijicon. The Mepros also seem to have a larger tritium vial and are easier to acquire in the dark too.

Looks like there's a lot of metal at the rear of the frame. Anyone tried cutting a dovetail for a auto rear sight. I think I'd like a 3 dot tritium.

Chuck | The XS sights go on just like the Model 60. I could be wrong but think it might even take the same sight. I really like the XS on my SP. It is the Standard Dot with tritium which I find easy to see even being in my 60's.
