Now thats the way it should be! My friend has been waiting three months and I told him today don't be surprised if it takes another two. The city he lives in is very slow at sending out their LTC applications to the state and then the state is so back logged due to the insanely high number of applicants.
I had read on various forums that Geauga is pretty much the gold standard for CCW in NE Ohio and I have to agree. They have evening and weekend hours, the deputies were helpful and courteous and they even take personal checks, pretty much anything to make it easier.
I received mine yesterday from Morrow county. I'm a Delaware county resident and Delaware and Franklin county both had 6 week waits just to schedule the application appointment. I tried Morrow county (just north of Delaware county) and they took walk-ins! Took them about 5 business days to turn it around.
I did the Walmart walk and a few other places yesterday. It was very anti-climactic. I guess I'm comfortable enough with firearms on my person for it not to be a big deal. I guess I was expecting to feel something different but I didn't.
I'm proud to be exercising my 2nd amendment rights. As I was thinking about it yesterday I came to the conclusion that I no longer rely on the State for my personal protection. The feeling was quite liberating.
