Looks NICE! I've got a gunsmith friend that does Cerakoting. He did the slide on my XDm45. He has very reasonable prices, too. I highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to do Cerakoting. Just talk to Tim at acoating.com for a quote.

Here's my XDm45 that was originally all black.

I mention this because I've seen the Cerakoted Talo SR1911 advertised for several hundred dollars more than a regular SR1911. If you can get one and want it to look like a Talo, you'll save yourself a lot of money by getting the Cerakoting done yourself.

Resurrecting an old thread here.

JLH: What color is that? I was thinking of doing the frame of my new SP-01 in Satin Aluminum Cerakote for a reverse two-tone. CZ used to offer one, but not any more. They offer it in the SP-01 Tactical Sport but not the standard SP-01.

How has your Cerakote held up? Still looking good?

Matthew, "I think" the color is brushed aluminum. There are about 3 or 4 colors that are similar. This was the brightest of them. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I have a bi-tone XDm 9c and the slide on that one is not as bright as this one.

The cerakoting holds up very well. I did have it in a gunsmith's shop once and when I received it back, there were marks on the slide that looked like he'd put it in a vise. However, the guy that cerakoted it for me re-coated it free of charge. There's been no other marks on it whatsoever. I do know that Cerakote is tougher than Durakote, but it's hard to say just how tough it is. And yes, it's still looking good, just like the day I brought it home.

If you're looking for a place to have it done, I highly recommend acoating.com. I worked with Tim and he's done several things for me now and his work is outstanding.
