SR9c - carry with round chambered

Good morning folks - been away from the forum since December - missed a lot of good feedback I'm sure. For those out there who carry an SR9c (had mine since September) how many of you carry it with a round chambered but the manual safety on? I want to be prepared, especially in scenarios where there is a need for quiet where I don't have to rack the slide, but common sense and experience with my SR9c prevents me from doing that. Instead, so far I just carry a S&W 38sp J frame as a back up for any time I don't want to have to rack the slide first. Thoughts?

Always carry my SR9c chambered with 10 in the magazine. Safety on.

Practice drawing, with thumb sweeping the safety off and keeping my finger outside the trigger. Best to practice with a verified empty gun. Once very comfortable practice with live ammo at outdoor range.

Edit add: this topic has come up on other threads. One thing I feel strongly about is that if your carry gun has a safety, IMO it's best to use it. On three separate ocassions, I have gone to put my pistol in the safe at night and discovered the safety had flipped sometime, someway during the course of the day. If I carried with the safety off and assumed that in a tough situation, I'd probably be puzzled (maybe dead) because the trigger wouldn't pull when I needed bang.

I used to carry a S&W Shield 9mm with one in the pipe. Despite the built-in trigger safety, I never felt completely comfortable carrying it.

Not necessarily having the muscle memory to flip off a safety in a stress situation where I would need to defend myself, I traded in the S&W for a Springfield XD Subcompact with the trigger and grip safety. I am confident in the redundant safeties on that firearm.

Regardless, because of the inherent safety of a revolver, that is what I prefer to carry on most days.

I would never carry a gun without 1 in the chamber and with the safety on. If you have a good holster like some of these people are saying then I don't see a problem with it. Id rather have my gun ready to fire in a bad situation then to have to fumble with racking the slide or having to find the safety.
