Hey everyone. New to the forum, I just bought my first rimfire pistol. I got the Mark IV 22/45 lite. I am looking to upgrade the trigger and see quite a few threads on the topic but Im a little confused. I see a lot of people putting in a Volquartsen Accurizing Kit but swapping the trigger out for a Victory. Can anyone explain why? I guess what i dont understand is if so many people like the Victory trigger then why start with Volquartsen to begin with?

I installed the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit in my MK IV Target and am very happy with it. I personally do not like the looks of the Victory trigger or the FLAT FACE of the trigger but I guess some people do. In my opinion the trigger face should be rounded like your finger as it is on almost every trigger ever made . . . But there are a few flat triggers made that some people like....

The whole kit is not really needed if you are wanting to use a TK Victory trigger. The Volquartson parts needed are the Target Sear and a Mkll Hammer Bushing to complete the best trigger 99% of the people will need. If you are into competition and are one of the few that might be able to feel a 1% change in the trigger then get the Mkll Hammer too. While you have the disconnect bar out clean up all the edges and give it a good polish with 800 grit sandpaper. Remove and set aside the parts for the magazine safety.

Welcome from the free state of Washington. I went with a Volquartsen sear, stock springs and hammer. Then I went with some parts you won't be needing from Tandemkross (you lucky devil). I agree on the trigger though. Unless you are using flat faced triggers on other firearms , you might not need that. I have a stock trigger and it has dine just fine for me for the past 2500+ rounds.

Did you try looking for the same thing on Midway, e-bay or amazon, often they have the same things , many times at a lower cost and with better delivery terms. You could still check and then cancel if you find terms more to your liking.

+1

I have purchased through Rimfiresports a number of times. Delivery is usually pretty quick too.

Volquartsen honors their products purchased though other vendors as well. I had purchased a VQ extractor though RFS and it broke after just a few thousand rounds. Scott V said it wasn't heat treated properly and sent a replacement within a couple days. So, both are standup companies in my book!

New to forum and to handgun shooting. I bought a Mark IV 22/45 and am very happy with it so far. Have been thinking about a trigger upgrade and did see the complete VQ Accurizing kit for the Mark IV.

I did contact VQ by email and was told if I call them I can buy the Mark IV sear separately.

So, to confirm, I can buy the VQ sear alone, and it can be installed with the other stock parts (trigger, bushing, etc...)? This alone would improve the trigger performance? (mainly the trigger pull?)

Learning as I go so need to be very specific before I pull the trigger (pun intended :) ) and buy aftermarket parts.

Thanks

The VQ Accurizing kit is designed to fix a number of things people complain about with the Mark pistols.

1) The sear is much smoother than the factory one and will reduce the trigger pull weight considerably. 2-3 lbs is the typical result (down from 5-6 lbs).

2) The target trigger is adjustable to allow you to reduce the pre travel and over travel. (A little must be left for reliable firing and trigger resetting.)

3) The hammer and bushing is designed to allow you to remove the magazine disconnect safety. This "safety" was a big nuisance in the mkiii because there were several times during takedown and reassembly that you had to insert and remove an empty magazine. With the mkiv takedown, it's really a pretty minor inconvenience IMO.

So yes, you can install just the new sear alone.

Being a trigger freak I installed the VQ Accurizing Kit on four Mk pistols. Used the VQ disconnector in my last installation. Have also taken to cleaning up the inside of the frame and polishing it. Still have a couple that need that. It will be done at my next major cleanings.

Been neglecting my Rugers, shooting S&W Models 41 and a Hammerli. They all demand equal range time.:)

I have the MIII 22/45 Lite and have installed all VQ upgrades and the TK Victory trigger. Trigger is sub 2lb pull and insanely crisp. I have 3 other Rugers with upgrades but I kept the rounded triggers on those. The Lite is the only one with the flat faced serrated trigger.

I tried the same TK Victory on my Browning Buckmark camper and don't like it at all, oddly enough.

VQ makes excellent products. I have their trigger on a Mark III Hunter (exactly like another gentleman in this thread posted) and it's great.

My advice: Dont go bonkers sweating all the products, there isn't gonna be THAT much difference. Swap out the sear and bushing with VQ. Try the Victory trigger. Polish the trigger bar, hammer and the plunger yourself. Alll the upgrades are DIY. I wouldn't buy a new trigger bar. You can upgrade the hammer but I think polishing this one is probably enough. Good to go.

All I can give is my opinion of course, but I absolutely love my setup and it's one of my favorite pistols to shoot. Very crisp and the least amount of trigger reset I own.

I have the VQ Accurizing kit installed in my MKIV Target. I really like it, trigger pull is a nice crisp 2.5 lb. Couldn't be happier.
