I do understand. Back in the day, I did all kinds of hunting, but my favorite was a quiet day in the woods hunting squirrels, usually with a handgun, most often a favorite Single Six. In my adult years, used to be a tradition for me to cook them up and then invite my brother over for a squirrel dinner and reminisce about hunting them together as kids. Glad to see some folks still enjoy hunting them. Good for you.
Congrats...squirrel poppin' is fun...we always cooked-n-ate what we shot! Simple but good!
I used a single-shot break-action .410 growing up and switched to a 20 GA in my teens...nowadays I use a .22lr...more challenging on squirrels and rabbits!
Note: It's been several years since I've popped a squirrel...I've an 8 and 9 y/o sons...it's time and your post gave me the itch now!
BTW...we're your neighbors to the west...from over near the Fort!
Love squirrel and rabbit hunting and eating since I was a kid. But never hunted them with anything other than a 22.
