This weekend was my first real time out with my 10 22 i bought back in Jan. The Ruger 10 round mag worked great, but I bought two Butler Creek 25 round, one Steel and one Hot. The hot lips seemed to fire fine but I got several FTF with the steel lips until I got down to 12-15 left in the mag, then it fired great. Do these mags need a break in time? Should I load them and let them set to break in the spring? Thanks.

Welcome from Minnesota!
I have not used the Butler Creek mags in my 10/22. However, I've had other new mags that I have had some issues with as well. I'd try storing it loaded with 15-20 for a week and see if it gets better. Also, be sure it is clean, I that is obvious but worth mentioning.
Good Luck!

Post your questions about the 10/22 here: Ruger 10/22 Rimfire
and I'm sure someone will be along shortly to offer some help.
