Hi everyone. I am new to the board and shooting Ruger. For a Christmas present from my wife I recieved money for a Ruger SR40C. I have fell in love with this handgun. My wife wants to purchase the SR9C model now. Most of my life I have always shot rifles, shotguns and bows. Most of the handguns I have shot where when I was in the military or ones friends owned and shot them at the range together. I am originally from MA and moved to VA before recently moving to Texas where my wife is from. The towns I lived in while in MA where impossible to get a large capacity license so I could purchase a handgun. Reason number one why we moved from MA. Funny that you can have an absolutely clean record, honorably serve your country and still be turned down by the local police department after getting the okay from the state police in MA. It all comes down to the say of the local police department in MA and most of them say no due to they do not want citizens to have high cap licenses. They actually make you drag them to court and spend a lot of money on attorneys who specialize in 2nd amendment rights to help you win in court. What a racket they have going there. Sorry to sound like I am ranting but this is why I have waited so long to get a handgun in life. I am also looking to get my wife a Ruger 10/22 rifle for the range in time. We both love the outdoors, do a lot of fly fishing, surf casting and archery. My wife was never in to guns until she met me. Now we have a bird dog and she wants to get in to bird hunting with me too. I build custom rods, Tye(old way of spelling it) flies and custom take down recurve bows. I don't know much about fixing handguns but hope I can help out with any questions about bows or fishing in return. I have taken multiple handgun courses and have had my wife also go through shooting courses with me. Hope to make some friends here and learn all I can from everyone here. Hope everyone has a great 2013.

Sincerely,

Ricky V.

Thank you BlueMountain. Love upstate NY. My uncle is a well known guide for steelhead and salmon on the Salmon river and it's tributaries in Pulaski NY. My wife and I would go there 10 times a year spey casting for big fish. Still can't convince her to move up there until we retire lol! I need to hit the lottery so I can buy a house there for vacations!!!! Best Steelhead fishing in the US.

Tight lines,

Ricky V.

I am getting welcomes from people that live in states I have lived or visited. This is awesome! Thank you darthdan. I used to live in West Jordan Utah and loved fishing the Provo River for the big German Browns. When I first got to Utah and saw how cheap the Elk Jerky was I bought the whole darn jar of them right then and there. The store owner thought I was nuts lol! Thanks again for the welcome and hope you have a great 2013!
