Hey Dan! Welcome to the Forum from Georgia!
I belong to a GP100 too! It's a blued 4'' with the factory installed Hogue black rubber grips and I love it! It's an awesome shoot! Good luck and happy shootin' with your GP.
Watch out with that Ruger though...they do tend to mulitply
Glad you could join us!

Welcome aboard from Colorado.
New to guns and want another already? So many guns, so little time! (And money!)
Here's my $0.02...
What do you want it for?
Home defense (HD)? 12ga or 20ga shotgun. Next, a good .45.
Protection out and about or CCW? Something in a .40 cal. Nice thing about a .40 is that there are conversion kits to turn it into a 9mm to give you best of both worlds. .40 for carry, 9mm for cheap(er) practice. I like a .40 though.
Protection in the wilderness? I just purchased a Redhawk .44 Mag 4.2". I really like that gun, but it's quite a handful! It was my first revolver. After posting my collection in the Gallery, the forum told me I needed a revolver.
Plinking? Sorry, I don't have a plinker yet. My collection so far is self defense, and money is tight. My next purchase might be a plinker.
Others will have different opinions, of course.
Anyway, welcome once again.

If I were you, my next purchase would be a 10/22, everyone should have one. Then a good 12g shotgun, one able to be used for both hunting and defensive purposes. After that, a good rifle to fill out many roles, something like a GSR.
