New from Texas (With Ruger Praise!)

Hey Everyone. Been a lurker for a couple of months so I decided to go ahead and join the fun.

About 2 or 3 months ago, the ruger bug bit and I purchased my first gun; an sr9c. Gotta say, off the starting block, the 9c was far from flawless. 50% failure rate AT LEAST. Extraction problems, ejection problems, and some really funky barrel wear in the first 250 rounds. The barrel wear probably wasnt a major issue but the front of the barrel was getting marred, maybe getting caught by the slide or something. I dont know, doesnt make sense, i just didnt like that there was wear in a place that isnt supposed to be there.

So I got with Ruger and they had me send it in. After two week turnaround, I got my sr9c back with a note stating that they replaced the barrel and repaired the extractor free of charge. about 450 rounds later, the gun is still 100%.

Kudos to Ruger for amazing CS. That alone is making me want an lc9.

Anyways, thats my story in a nutshell. So what's goin on guys and gals?

~Shelby (I know the compact pistol with a less than manly name ain't doin much for me but I assure you, I'm a man.)

Welcome to the forum from Phoenix! Glad you got your SR9c fixed up. They're great guns.

Regarding the LC9, if there's anyway possible, try shooting one before you buy. My SR9c tricked me into buying an LC9 without trying it first. The SR9c has one of the sweetest triggers out there. Let's just say, the LC9 does not! They're both Rugers, but totally different guns. The LC9 is basically a backup, emergency gun. It works, but for anyone with large hands, it is not a pleasure to shoot.

Thanks for the welcome everybody!

jlh820, Thanks for the heads up. The sr9c is such a sweet gun to shoot and I'm looking for another ruger specifically because I love my sr9c so much. Shame about the lc9. I'll have to see if a range around my area carries it as a rental.
