Welcome form SW Florida. Congrats on the SR9. I really love my SR40 and SR40C so there's another option. Oh, and the SR1911 is a great Ruger too. Then there's the SP101, the LCR, the GP100.... you get the idea. Lots of good stuff! If you can try before you buy that's always a good idea. Many of us have learned the hard way......

i just went over to my favorite shooting store, and handled both of those, plus a few others. i've heard (here in the forum and elsewhere) nothing but good things about the sr9. i've heard mixed things about the lc9, but then, too, my view is they serve slightly different purposes. sr9 is cream of the crop and a great HD handgun according to many folks more expert than i am, but it would be a bulky, tough ccw. whereas the lc9 has gotten some mixed reviews, but definitely fits that smaller ccw billet nicely. also looked at a ruger 380 and a sig 380 just for kicks and giggles. fun stuff--didn't bring anything home today.

Welcome form another Texan in the DFW area, great to have you here with us and not lurking around in the back ground anymore.
Thats what I really like about Ruger...its usually well build and designed and more rugged than that proverbial brick crap house and handle just about anything on this side of sanity that you can throw at them. When they dont...They are pretty good about standing behind their product and making it right when it aint right! That there says a lot about a company and one I am willing to support with my wallet!
Now if I could just get them to make the SBH in Stainless chambered for the 30 carbine (Blue is nice but I would sell my soul for one in Stainless) and if they made a bolt action in 7.62x39 with a .311 bore, I wouldnt have to buy one from CZ-USA. Guess nothing is completely perfect, huh?
