| New SR40C, not new to Ruger
Traded into a brand-spanking-new SR40C, black nitride today. As the thread title says, I am not new to Ruger firearms. I briefly owned a Mini-14, which I should have kept. At the moment I have the SR40C (which is also my first handgun in .40 S&W,) a SWEET Blackhawk .357, and a stainless 10/22 with factory polymer stock.
I have not fired the SR yet, but I hear good things. In addition to what I have read here, a friend of mine has the same gun in stainless. I plan to fire the SR this weekend, and see how it does against my Springfield Armory XD9SC, which I carry every day. I also want to compare it to my Beretta M9.... I will let you know the results.

Good luck with your SR40C. I have a stainless version and love it. Mine is really accurate and I think very controllable with the .40 ammo. I was a nim no and shot Tula the first time with it and had a couple stove pipes. Since then the brass I've used of any kind all went bang. It probably would shoot Tula now that it has sent some rounds down range.
I also have a Security Six and an SR22P, so while not exact - we have some similarities with what we like apparently. |

Great pistols, i have the SR40 and 40c and both have performed flawlessly. They are both the black nitrite finish and i am completely pleased with their performance.
