Howdy

New shooter, here. Just bought my first gun, sr22, and thought I should seek out some other enthusiasts.
Good looking forum! I used quite a few of the threads here to make my decision on the sr22. I've got two 10/22's on my radar for purchase and a Walther ppq 9.

Question...
I fired 200 rounds (cci mini mag 36grain) at the range yesterday and was surprised by how loud this little gun is. I figured I was just being a noobie but could not remember another .22 that was this loud. As I was reloading my magazines, another shooter asked what I was shooting. He said he heard me shooting and was surprised when he looked at my target to see it was .22. Has anyone else noticed the sr22 as being a bit louder than other .22LR? What would cause this?

BTW: 2 FTF, 1FTE.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum from West Virginia...
I have both the SR22p and a Smith M&P 22 and they are both loud. I suppose it is the short barrel. I tried sub-sonic ammo and still loud but less reliable recycle action.
I have a CZ 452 Super Lux rifle with a 28 1/2 barrel and with sub-sonic ammo, it sounds like a pellet gun. I don't need to wear hearing protection and can hear the round impact the target.
