Hi Everyone,
I am in a wheelchair and have partially paralyzed, but large hands. I have owned many rifles and revolvers, but just purchased my first semi-auto (Ruger SR22). I absolutely the the gun so far, even though I have only dry fired so far, going to do some actual shooting today. I though I would have issues with the slide, but that's not an issue. It's the trigger pull that is giving me a problem. I can grip the gun with both hand and use both index fingers to pull the trigger, not the perfect scenario, but it will work for now.
I have called two Gunsmiths, one told me there isn't anything that can be done to reduce the trigger pull. The other told me he would take on the 'project' at $75 an hour. I don't want a project, I want to know 'if' this can be done. I need the trigger pull as light as possible in Single Action. Double action is moot, since it can be avoided with SA use.
Can this be done? Gunblast says trigger pull in SA is 4.1lbs. Is it possible to reduce by 50% or more?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome from the Mountain State of WV. My SR-22 trigger pull measures at a little over 5 1/2 lbs (Lyman Digital Gauge). It only has about 150 rounds through it so maybe it will get lighter. I did see the Gunblast reference and was surprised at mine. Quote:
