Howdy. New to forum, old to Rugers.
Let's see, started in 1974 with a 3-screw BH .357/9. My first CF handgun and still the one gun I would never part with. I may get around to shooting the 9mm cylinder someday:-)
I've had others come and go, mostly NM BHs and Security Sixes that I've just never learned to love. The other Rugers still in the barn:
Original 77 .270 win. Love the ol shotgun safety over the 3-pos. It's knocked over truckloads of Texas whitetails (no remarks from Yankees about our deer!). The Hawkeye .338 Federal looks mighty interesting, though.
#3 .22 Hornet. Don't ask, I ain't partin with it! Funest little rifle on the planet and poison on Rio Grande turkeys! It'll be my son's bridge to centerfires.
NM .45 Colt 7.5. Not real crazy about it. Everything it does, my OM .357, does better.
Early .44 Redhawk 7.5". Not crazy about the ergonomics, but will that thing shoot! After 5000+ of magnums, still locks dead tight with no play.
.357 Flattop. I traded for it back in the early 80s thinking I would really like it. The action has always felt weird and almost out of time, plus a previous owner had filed down the front sight so it shot high with the rear screwed all the way down. I suppose I coulda got it fixed, but figured why when the ol 3-screw did the job, so I gave it to SIL for something to plink with and protect my precious daughter:-) I do like the original XR3 grip frame and Micro sights, though.
I'm a shooter, not a collector, so if something's gathering dust that's not a family heirloom, I have little hesitation about trading or selling to try something new or just to make space. I also like practical guns, no bench-rest rifles, hand-cannons that require a rest to shoot, or plastic semi-autos that can't hit anything past 10 yds.
I hadn't bought a new (or used) gun in about 15 years (in fact, I've downsized a lot of stuff I don't use) and haven't kept up with what's new, so I look forward to seeing & hearing about everyone's experiences with Rugers, especially the wheelguns.
Let the posts begin!

Howdy from Big D.
Three, this is a great site that is informative, educational and welcoming to all interested in firearms, specially Rugers.(of course). My first Ruger was the Security Six stainless that I still have today and I plan to pass it on to one of my sons.

Welcome from Nj. I too have a blackhawk for over 35 years except mine is a 45/45 blackhawk convertible and mine is a new model. for my hand the colt style xr3 grip is not comfortable. I like the xr3 red grip frame and i prefer the new model transfer bar system By the way mine has a 31/2 lb trigger with no work on it just tens of thousands of trigger pull.
