This is my first post here.

Once the mandated state waiting period is over, I'll be picking up my first firearm purchase. I opted for a Ruger American Rimfire. The reviews online were pretty great. It seemed like this would be a great first firearm to learn on, and provide a nice foundation for further education and purchases.

I'm in the military, I'm an active musician, and I look forward to learning and interacting on this site.

Welcome from central Ohio.

Not long ago I wanted to add a bolt action 22LR to the collection so I picked up the Ruger American Rimfire with wood stock as soon after they came out. When the salesman took it out of the box, well I just couldn't help myself. I second chowser51's comments.

Welcome from the People's (Exclusively) Democratic Republic of California!

I too, have a Ruger American Rimfire (mine is the full size, 22" barrel version) and I think it is one of the best values in a firearm today. It feels like a much more expensive gun. The trigger is fantastic, and now that I've shot a few hundred rounds through, the bolt has slicked up nicely.
