Just wanted to say hello from the Pacific Northwest ....

My wife and I are soon to be gun owners .. I went with the GP100, blued with the 4 inch barrel .. and my wife went with a S&W Model 60.

Can not wait for the check to come back so we can go and get them and head to the range ....

Any advice would be very welcome .....

Welcome to the wonderful world of firearms and to this great forum ... Glad to have you aboard! We'll try our best to assist with your initial learning curve (lots of very good info available here). I'm curious if your doing this for home defense only, or if there is conceal carry in your future (saw an article recently that indicated that CCW permits applications were up by over 40% in Washington since 2003)

thanks for the welcome guys !!!!!!!! and the information available is like trying to fill a shot glass from a fire hose .....

both actually ...... home defense because we are not too comfortable with the way things are going ... AND CCW but .. I am thinking that my GP100 might be pushing it a bit ..

Plus .. I think that taking them and the kids to the firing range will be good for them ... my Dad was ex-Army .. and I grew up at the firing range at Fort Dix ......

If the Mrs. got one of those nifty little 2-1/8" barrel model 60 "Lady Smiths", that would be a nice carry gun ... but the GP100 may be a bit big for CCW.

Welcome from Central North Carolina, I have fond memories of Washington State from my Army days, haven't been there in ten years, I think you live in a very beautiful state. Welcome aboard!!! and congrats on your new gun purchases.
