While inspecting a lube-oil tank on-board a ship some years ago I found a 1911 resting on the bottom of the tank.

It was probably over lubricated but had no signs of rust, the on-board armorer gave me a lesson on the inner workings of the 1911 while he cleaned the slime (sludge) from it.

Government contracts are usually awarded on the basis of a low bid but with certain requirements that are usually acceptable, or just acceptable; a properly funded individual can always find a superior product but how much superior might be needed to accomplish the required mission.

More than just good enough to save you or your brothers life in the heat of combat when you need it at it's very best than just good enough for QC.
