eBay removing AR magazine auctions
Like a lot of folks I have been looking for spare AR magazines. In the past 2 or 3 days I have placed bids on several auctions on eBay for Thermold mags. I have gotten this answer from eBay after a few hours:
MC999 eBay Listing Removed (725112670)
Dear
Thanks for your interest in this listing:
150970066659 - 3 Thermold 30 round AR15 magazines .223/5.56
We're sorry to tell you that the item isn't available for purchase anymore. We removed the listing because it likely fell into one of these three categories:
-- The listing doesn't follow eBay guidelines.
-- The item isn't allowed on eBay or can only be listed under certain conditions.
-- The listing contains pictures or words that may have violated copyright or trademark rights.
This is disappointing for everyone, but sometimes it's an action we have to take to protect you as a buyer.
Any one else seeing this type of "re-action" when bidding on weapons type stuff
I have just placed a bid on a two pack of Thermold AR mags and the bid has been confirmed just like before. Then the above message shows up and the listing disappears from their site

I listed a couple 30 rd magpul pmags on ebay and they pulled my listing or someone in the public flagged it. This is part of the email ebay sent me,.....
Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because of the following:
You have listed a 30 round magazine. We only allow magazines with a maximum of 10 rounds or less. Seller's must clearly state their capacity in their listing. We have this policy in place due to laws and regulations in states that restricted high capacity magazines.
We realize you may not have been aware of this policy, but we ask that you not relist that item. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Magazines with a capacity of 10 rounds or less may be listed. However, the capacity must be stated in the item description, or clearly visible within the images used in the listing. If there are contradicting terms (i.e. 10 rounds or less is stated, but the image shows 15) these listings may also be removed.
eBay prohibits the sale of magazines that accept more than 10 rounds, typically referred to as "high capacity" magazines. These items may not be sold, regardless of how they are described in the listing.

I still find hundreds of them for sale on ebay im sure they cant keep up with it, sounds like ebay or someone else has been flagging the listings your bidding on. I would go to gunbroker.com and search there they are selling them and they dont have a problem doing so.

It's funny. I have several cannon/mortar pieces that fit onto one mortar bed for fourth of July type activity. They are all stainless ranging in bore from 50 caliber to that of a golf ball totaling 6 pieces but with a total of 11 bores. Now just one of these pieces came from a different source other than E-Bay. So of the six, five black powder cannons/mortars all came from E-Bay. The reason this was able to happen is that the sellers all had to say "This is a signal device only. Projectiles can not be shot from it nor can the signal device be made to shoot projectiles". What hogwash!! Any and all could shoot whatever projectile you wanted to shoot. It makes them happy I guess? Smithy.

They've had the rules regarding magazine capacities in place since they started allowing them again. Not really a surprise. If it's against their policies (their house, their rules), then would one expect something different?

Blkhawk, I understand thats their rules and im fine with it., but they arent following their own rules if they are allowing hundreds of those sales to happen. If your going to have rules you should follow them. Just go search pmag on ebay and you will get a ton of 30 rd mags. Ebay does a piss poor job at preventing them from being listed and removing them. I emailed them to tell them that. I told them they pulled my add but had hundreds still on their site.... They told me to go to those listings and report each item. I told them thats not my job and they arent paying me to monitor their site. I dont care what their policy is, I just would like it to apply to everyone.

Guessing that they have a certain department that handles such stuff and that department only has so many employees. They can only do so much and stop so many in a shift. With everyone and anyone wanting to cash in on the frenzy, there's no way to realistically keep up and keep them all off the site. Pretty good chance there's other items that get attention besides magazines.
Kinda like police...there's only so many on duty at once so there's no way they can catch all the speeders.

I put 2 Glock 19 15 rounders on ebay that they pulled. I even noted the states I wouldn't ship to that had mag restrictions under 15 rounds.
Note I got from them :
++Unfortunately, we had to remove your listing because of the following:
You listed a magazine for a firearm that holds more than 10 rounds and is therefore not permitted on our site. While this item may be perfectly legal to sell and available at other retail outlets, we've made the decision that some firearm parts are not right for our marketplace. We ask that you please not relist it on our site.

I recently bid on a TC Contender barrel on ebay and got this message. It appears this item is restricted for export by the U.S. Department of State (DOS) under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 CFR, Parts 120-130) or the Department of Commerce under the Bureau of Industry (BIS) and Security Export Administration Regulations, EAR (15 CFR, Parts 730-774). ITAR restricted items require an export license granted from the DOS Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) prior to export. EAR restricted items may or may not require a license, depending on the end user and the ultimate country of destination.
Directing the seller to export without complying with the regulatory licensing and documentation requirements is a violation of United States law. Please consult DDTC’S website at ww.pmddtc.state.gov and BIS’S website at BIS Redesign for more guidance. Also, please refer to eBay’s Military Items Policy for additional information.
I thought it odd, but the bid was accepted.

I used to buy a lot of stuff on Fleebay, but since they have took their anti gun stance, I have avoided them. Same for PayPal. Both are as anti gun as they come, so they don't need my money.
