Welcome to the forum.

Nice acquisition. I have several folders and a couple of automatic knives, but I've never had a fixed blade. I think if I were to get one, I'd get the Kabar Big Brother. Why? Because it's cool. I have virtually NO use for it, but I'd still like to have one.

Been collecting knives for over 20 years. I would imagine I have about 75 or so. Some I have inherited, some were gifts, and some I bought myself. Knives are one of my happy places. I have been carrying knives since cub scouts (not to school though obviously). But as soon as I was home I had one on me, I liked to play in the woods a lot. I feel knives are a great tool and necessity for every day. I carry 2 knives on me at all times, I'm a firm believer that everyone should have a knife.

Here a few I dug out to show. The rest are somewhere I can't get to at the moment.

Hey Beerman you have quite the collection. I've got much the same until I got bit by the Gil Hibben bug. I've got quite a few much like your second picture (all fixed blade) that I'll be selling for a ridiculous price in the near future. The box is big/heavy enough that I can't pick it up by myself if that's an indication of how many there are. So if any of you all are looking for a really great deal on straight edged bowies, daggers, throwing knives, etc. be looking for an ad from Smithy.

Not sure how many I have. I sold about 100 Schrades (old timer /uncle henry), so between Schrade and Camillus, I may have 300 left.

Thought I had over 100 but when I counted it was 40. I like all knives and have a variety of fixed blades, folders, bowies, one dagger from United cutlery and most are pocket knives of the trapper, stock-man, congress, peanut and camper variety. I switch them out pretty often to keep the wear down. My favorites are the high carbon steel that need oiling but hold a great edge.
