| Allen Elishewitz designed Folder from Hogue...
Just purchased one of the new Allen Elishewitz designed tactical folders being marketed by Hogue.
I was looking for a serious tactical folder with pocket clip to replace the Kershaw Nighthawk I've been carrying for the last several years, that knife has gotten pretty beat up using it at work. I also have a SOG multi-tool and belt pouch, but with a cell phone and fire dept pager hanging off my belt as it is, I never carry it anymore.
Anyway, after doing a few hours of internet research, and watching a few YouTube videos on this Hogue / Elishewitz folder, I decided to go with the 4" tanto blade with OD green G-Mascus handle. Hogue has it listed at $239.99 but I found one on eBay for $169.99 with free Priority shipping.
Does anyone else have and carry one of these knives, and what's your opinion of them.....?

Looks like a nice knife. Is it a chisel grind?

Is that the angle at which the edge is ground, if so I do not know.....

| Grind - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
^ Pretty good easy-reference.
I have one of his customs (a collaborative semi-custom, actually, a Helix), and he does very nice work, reflective of his product's asking price - but I've been out of the hobby now for going on 7 years, so I don't know what Hogue's collaboration on this project as a name-bearing production will reflect.
Try Google-Fu'ing it. See if you don't get some hits that pertain to the collaborative knife on large knife-discussion Forums like Bladeforums.
Also, something to remember...depending on how highly sought the custom maker is - and, of-course, the actual quality and desirability of the final production product - some time down the line (and this could be as soon as, literally, just a half-decade or decade), the knife may be worth significantly more than its current full asking price. I don't really "collect" production pieces, even collaborations: I buy them because I like the way they look/feel/cut and then put them into my "user" category, which significantly affects their value. I've got a Spyderco Viele and two Lums...none in perfect condition.
Best of luck!

Got my new Hogue knife today, and it is made in the USA, razor sharp right out of the box, solid heavy blade, the G-10 G-Mascus handle not only looks great, but gives this knife a solid firm feel, and it's well balanced when opened. I was a little concerned that it might be a bit too bulky in my pocket, but it's not, it is the biggest tactical folder I've carried, but the size and weight are fine, it fits my pocket well, and it's not much heavier than any other knife I've carried in the past.
I'm quite pleased with this knife, I feel it's well worth the cost, and would recommend it to anyone shopping for a new tactical folder for daily carry....

Took some quick cell phone photos of my new knife to hopefully give a better visual perspective of it compared to my other knives.....
First, the new Hogue closed....
Opened....
Compared to my other knives and SOG multi-tool....
The quality of photos isn't very good, and I hope to get my wife's good camera one of these days and take better pictures, but just wanted to post these to give those interested a better idea of the size of this knife....
