Ruger knives

I've seen them at my lgs. Does Ruger actually make their own knives or not? The clerk at the store told me that Ruger gets naming rights to some of CRKT's products. I've caught this particular clerk being full of it before that's why I ask.

It appears that the knives are being made by CRKT and they put the Ruger name on a line of knives according to a contract they have with Ruger. A practice a lot of companies do.

Ok. Good to know. I know that companies get naming rights. Like, for example, the CRKT knife I purchased ( Sting 3B) is actually an A. G. Russell knife that is licensed to CRKT

They knives are made by CRKT (Columbia River Knife and Tool), Ruger just has a contract with them. I have a few of them and find them to be really good knives for the money. They make about 25 different styles.

Here's one of my Ruger knives. It was made by Case and has Alexander Sturm and Bill Ruger's signature on the blade. I have a couple more Ruger knives but don't have pictures of them. One is a Ruger Blackhawk folder ... maybe made by CRKT??

ifithitu, It is a great knife but it sits in my knife case along with about 80 other folders and 50 fixed blades. I also have several "working" knives scattered about. Almost all of my knives are older and were made in the good ol' USA. There aren't many brands left that haven't moved to China .... Case is one of them that is still USA made.

I love that Case brand Ruger commemorative Iowegan has! Gorgeous knife, but too pretty/ valuable to use. Those CRKT knives in the Ruger line have caught my eye. They have something for everybody with the wide selection they offer. I have good working knives (all good U.S. made steel) but will probably be asking for one of those CRKT Rugers when my birthday rolls around.

I have the CRKT Sting 3B which in itself is a licensed product from A. G. Russell. Sometime soon I will be picking up another boot knife/dagger just to have two knives and two guns

Bear Cutlery & Sons blades are made in the USA. How do they rate?

There are quite a few knives still made in the USA but very few brands made exclusively here. I have some nice Buck knives made here, but they also make some in China. Kershaw also makes some nice made in USA knives, I carry a Kershaw Skyline every day.

The CRKT/Ruger knives are a fairly new offering. They're a licensed Ruger product manufactured by CRKT. I own the Ruger Accurate and it's a very well made hunting blade. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

The CRKT website lists them here: https://www.crkt.com/collection/ruger-knives.html

At one time Case made a Ruger series of knives, but not anymore.

I have the hollow point +p, and the stage 2. great knives. the stage 2 is a heavy, overbuilt folder, much like a Ruger revolver.
I have a muzzle brake fixed blade on the way.
