Picked up this yesterday!

I'm a big fan of Opinels. I've always liked their style and simplicity, and when I heard that L.L. Bean collaborated with them to make this I jumped right on it! What's special about it is that the maple wood was reclaimed from the bottom of Moosehead Lake in ME. Back at the turn of the century they used to float logs down the lake and a lot of them sank. In other words, the handle is made from 100+ year old wood that was perfectly preserved at the bottom of the lake!

Cool knife. I'm not familiar with them, but will definitely read up on that brand. Thanks for letting us see it.

Nice. I love opinels. I have a 3 inch and a 4 inch cold steel version called the twist master. with a polymer handle.

My sons have these knifes, did not realize there are other options for size and handle material. They always tote them when camping along with their EDC knives. Seem to be of quality.

Pretty nice. There's money in salvaging that old timber. I have some 2000 year old bog oak just waiting for that one in a thousand blade.
