Love those Damascus blades. Those are some beautiful pieces. Do you make them for personal use/satisfaction only, or do you offer pieces for sale as well?
I'm kind of taking a liking to a couple of them.

Those are really nice. Good work my friend.
I have a really dumb question as a knife novice. Is Damascus a type of steel or a process of forging?

It is a type of steel, where hard and soft layers are used. This is from an article from Knife Supply.com::

Damascus steel combines low and high carbon steels. These steels are folded and forge welded together. The fold-forge cycle is repeated until a large number of layers is obtained. It is then etched to bring out the beautiful grain pattern.

This process produces blades with extraordinary toughness and edge-holding ability. The edge of a Damascus blade contains tiny saw-tooth carbides which enables the blade to cut, even if it feels dull to the touch. The flexibility of Damascus is superb. Every piece of Damascus steel is as unique as a finger print.

I have been making knives for about 8 years. I specialize in full tang hunter for the sportsman. I use CPM S30V steel and 1095 hi-carbon and Alabama Damascus steel.
