Tough call. When i was a kid I read a lot of Jack O'Connor and his love of sheep hunting was always something I thought I wanted to do. At 65 I'm still thinking about it so unlikely to get that done. A brown bear hunt or an african hunt would be on the list. All I have to do is hit the lottery first more likely to get an Elk or Moose hunt in.

Sign me up for a Cape Buffalo in South Africa.

I don't have the gun for it, but thats a small matter.

That's ok, you can get a Remington 798 (even a Mauser style action) in .375 or .458 for about 450-550$, so that's the least of your concerns!

I'd like to hunt Elk in NC. Now, I know for some that's no big deal, but since Elk were native to NC up until the mid-1800s when they were wiped out by market hunting....

The National Park service has reintroduced Elk to certain valleys under their control in NC, however there is no 'Elk season' according to our wildlife resources dept. even though these elk are escaping and damaging crops in neighboring lands.

Perhaps one day it'll happen, but until then, I'll settle for hunting whitetail, hogs, and black bear without leaving my home state.

My dream hunt used to be whitetails in Texas but a couple years ago that changed to a bow hunt on the coasts of British Columbia for big bears.

My realistic dream hunt is scheduled for 2014. Bull Elk with my best friend. I am going to be hunting with a 3 Screw 41 Magnum with Stag handles, unless I run across a 45 Colt Bisley that strikes my fancy... Bull Elk with a Ruger revolver has always been a dream and now it seems likely to happen.

My bucket list hunt would be Lord Derby Eland and then a plane charter over to Masailand for a Cape Buffalo. Thrown in a couple Kudu and maybe a Gemsbok and that does it for me!!!
