I have been on the search for a quality takedown recurve for what seems like years now. All the models I have researched for under $600 seem to be plagued with problems of split or delaminating limbs. I do not need anything fancy, just something that will be dependable for the LONG haul. The search is still on.

I hear you, these days the recurves are speciality tools. Back in the day when the compounds were first coming out they were fetching the premium.

Whatever bow feels best to you is the best bow out there. Of course, you do need to check out lots of bows to find that one. Sounds like you've got a winner with Bear. I'm currently shooting a Strother Infinity with an older BowTech being my backup. Hoyt, Mathews, BowTech, Strother, Athens, Elite, Bear, PSE, Parker... They all make good bows, just gotta get one that fits you that you are comfortable with and in your price range. Good Luck! I'm impatiently waiting for opening day this Saturday!
