I use them for deer hunting. Don't know about weight retention, every one has passed all the way through.
Accuracy- they tend to be very well made bullets that are supposed to be interchangeble with sierra match kings with very little shift in point of impact.

They are accurate for me, +1 on the weight issue.
Unless you want to hit every bone from one-end-to-the-other, you won't find the bullet.
They stop muley's with ease.
This bullet has always been one of my personal favorites in 308 or 30-06 that works well at velocities under 2900 fps at the muzzle. Its often a bullet I start with in 30 cal when working up a load for hunting or target shooting to establish a good base line from which to work from. Its proven to be fairly accurate with a good trajectory thanks to the BC it has. Terminal performance on Deer, Pronghorn and Hogs have been excellent. Unfortunately I don't think I recall ever recovering a bullet so I have no idea what the retained weight would be. The very few I have recovered after being launched from a 300 Winchester Mag struck heavy bone and resembled a 55 gr FMJ fired at 3200 fps with no sizable fragments. As such I quickly concluded there were better bullets and no longer load this particular bullet above 30-06 power levels.
