Game Cam to Purchase

Didn't want to hijack the photo thread but that got me to thinking as I'm looking to buy this year and have no idea what would be a decent game cam to buy. Opinions please. Probably look to limit to $300 max and go under provided I get something that works.

I bought a Moultrie 3-4 years ago to see what (or who) is out there on my road at night. I live in a very rural area of northern New Mexico. Mine is a Moultrie model 990i. I think this model has been discontinued or replaced by an newer model. But it works great. Takes still shots or videos, does not have a visible flash so it doesn't scare them but animals seem to know it's there because they walk right up to it and look at it. I have great photos of elk, deer, bobcats, raccoons, coyotes and other critters that roam at night. Still waiting for that mountain lion. It cost about $149 on Amazon when I got it. You need to really do some research to compare the different features and prices.

I bought a STEALTH for it's high megapixel camera because I use it for security detail ever since I had a prowler last fall. I had to add an SD card and setup was easy So far so good and happily no incidents to report.

I've had some real good luck with Bushnell, bought my first one 7 years ago and its still running. It hasn't been inside for 2 years now. I have since purchased more and the all run 24/365.

My newer ones were purchased via Amazon, I believe the price point is $109.....14 megapixel and it shoots video too, but I don't use that feature.

My buddy bought another brand and it has so many bells and whistles on it, it was hard to get set up properly. I like simple and the Bushnell is very simple. Set up time takes about 5 minutes.

Regardless of what brand you buy they are nice to have out there doing your scouting for you.
