tent snake

was putting up gear into tent when i stepped over this one. popped him with my NM .44mag super blackhawk. 250 gr cast over 14 gr. blue dot. got back from hunting that evening and there was ANOTHER one in the tent. popped him too. and yes, we slept in the tent for 2 nights. welcome to the texas hill country.

Wow, that's a good sized snake. Nice shot.

Is the Tent Snake indigenous to Texas? I haven't heard of that type...

That's nuts! Two snakes inside a tent? First, get a new tent...and don't shoot big holes in it with 250gr .44 slugs! Man, I couldn't sleep there...

dude, you think thats bad? you shoulda heard my wife screaming at me on the phone after i sent her the pic and story of the first snake. i wasn't gonna tell her about the second one until my son kept calling me chicken and daring me to. i handed him the phone and let her yell at him then. when i walked in the house yesterday afternoon all i heard was stupid stupid stupid.

Nice rattler looking for heat I guess, very nasty bite glad you did not get nailed, Timber Rattlers around here rarely rattle even when you almost step on one how about those Westerns (I assume).
