Thanks Highhawk1948.
Very nice work. Were I'm at, you would seldom get a 180 yard shot.

You are doing some good reloading too! Congratulations!

That is a beautiful buck!

Your RAP is quite a shooter. It excites me to see how accurate yours is. I ordered a RAP in 6.5 Creedmoor a couple of days ago and I am looking forward to seeing how she does. What scope do you have on yours?

I had the RAP in .204 for a while now and I love it. Just bought one in 6.5 Creedmoor two weeks ago to take deer hunting for the doe hunt next weekend. It doesn't matter what you shoot, it just shoots. I wasn't aware you could load that light for a .243. That's excellent for coyotes then!

moakes58, We can get some long shots here so before the beginning of the season I knew what was the distance I would reload for. It was 340ish which is the maximum point blank range of this round. Last year I didnt get any deer because they were too far out (280-320 yards) and I wasnt comfortable with my brother-in-laws rifle. Saw I bought a RAP and started my development with that number in mind. Funny thing is I shot farther with my 7.62x40WT than my RAP.

mic214, you know when i dexided i was going to buy another rifle, I picked the 243 mainly because all my in-laws have one and I could handload for all of us. When I finally decided on the RAP, Scheels only had one in stock and they sold it 10 minutes before I got there. The Creedmoor was calling my name since I had just recently read a great article about this round. The only thing that kept me from buying the Creedmoor and having to drive an hour away was the simple fact that 243's were already in the family. I will buy a Creedmoor next year and bang some deer with it.

naef, the 243 caliber is new to me but my in-laws have had them since the were young. When I bought mine and asked what weight they wanted for a coyote load, it was 58gr. We needed a lazer so thats what we started with. Haven't shot any yotes with them yet but the vmax on hog is devastating. Im sure it will be the same on yotes. Enjoy your rifle and good luck on your hunt next weekend!

I was torn between getting the predator in .243 or 6.5 Creedmoor. I already have an old Remington 788 in .243 that is a great rifle, so I ended up going for the Creedmoor. The 6.5 CM is a fantastic cartridge and a lot of guys up here use them for pretty much everything from varmints to Mule Deer.

This is going to be my primary coyote rifle, so I am thinking of putting a 4-12x40 Vortex Crossfire II on the Creedmoor when I get it.

Yes, a Creedmoor is definitely on my list. I have the 4-12x44 Crossfire ll with the Deadhold BDC reticle my 243. Vortex makes some awesome scopes for the money.

Thanks, I was really curious as it is the common nickname of the Ruger American Pistol too!
