I sighted in 2 rifles this year. A CZ550 In 6.5x55 and a tikka 7mm rem mag. Didn't see a single buck I could shoot legally though this year. Hopefully next year.

Last year I used the 270. On sight in day, shooting Winchester 130 GR silvertips, @ 200 yards, the 3 holes were touching dead center in the bull.

Back in 1987, at Kmart, the rifle cost $225, & the 3 x 9 tasco scope cost me $19. 1/2 the paint is beat off it. The rifle has more gouges and scratches than any rifles I own from dragging it through the mountain laurel deer and bear hunting. I long lost count of how many deer its killed. Probably over 20. (1) bear, (1) mule deer, & (1) elk. I check it almost every year, but the 270 has NEVER been adjusted left to right since its been new. So I refuse to change the scope. It also came with a really good trigger. Ive never touched altering the rifle. And wont.

Its such a long range tack driver, my brothers named it the AT&T 270. Cause you can reach out and touch someone. I once shot a groundhog at about 550 yards. Killed the elk at over 600. My favorite rifle of all time.

If it aint broke,,, DONT fix it. .
That will teach me. I shoulda knocked on wood.

When I dug the 270 out about a week after this post, the scope was fogged up. Looks like the gas leaked out.

So I FINALLY had to change the scope. Im pretty sure I got my $19 bucks worth of use outta the old one.

Put on a 3 x 9 Nikon. The old girl shoots like she always did, but the Nikon scope is much clearer, especially in low light.

After 29 years,, It was time I guess.

You most certainly got every penny out of that $19 scope!

I have a Marlin xl7 270 that I put a boyds stock, won it in a raffle. the 270 is such a flat shooting accurate hunting round. Used it this year to get an 8 pt on opening day, its a keeper now in the unsellable wall of fame lol
