That time of year!!!

Well I wait all year and its here in full swing, fall, we've had a hard frost, had some lite ones but the last has everything going, guns that I plan on using are sighted in, the dogs are up to date on all shoots, sandhills are flocking up, antelope in full rut and the bulls are bugling. Wood pile is finished , pickup ready, LIFE IS GOOD.

I stopped hunting a number of years ago. I do miss it and remember how exciting and fun it was. I hope you have a safe and successful hunt.

It's still warm here in Georgia. The Atlanta area is anticipating a cool front where we'll have lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's. I am anticipating my 1st hunt of the year on Oct 15th when the primitive weapons season opens. I need to get my .45cal muzzle-loading rifle to the range,as well as the Savage .270 Ill hunt with in general gun season. I hunt south Ga and whitetail deer are the quarry. Where, what, and how we hunt might be different but the promise of a new season stirs our hearts the same. Good luck and safe hunting.

First frost is a bit off yet but the nights are getting cooler. Won't be long though and the leaves will be turning. As for the wood pile, it's an on-going project and always full.

Mounting snow equipment doesn't happen for awhile yet (late October or around Thanksgiving). Not a big deal, everything is "quick attach" on my Deere's.

I have to wait until November because that's when upland game season get's in and the deer with gun is about over. I love the crisp cold mornings walking the fields looking for some quail. I never did get into big game hunting but the folks in my family that deer hunt are getting really excited right now.

Fortunately, I hunt predators all year round, or I'd

go nuts.

I always like waiting until after that first good hard freeze to thin out the "sick" ones. We had a good hard freeze last weekend.
