What is your opinion of Bear Paw grips for your SA Ruger? Their grip seems opposite of standard SA grips, ie: thicker at top, smaller at bottom.

That is the way your hands are wider at the top and shorter at the bottom ie the longer fingers are next to the thumb. Seems like a good idea.

Reminds me of the old STP ads on TV where they would try to hold onto a screw driver blade and coated with STP. They couldn't hold it.

Now imagine holding onto two shapes coated with STP in your hand. One is a pyramid and one is a rectangle. Which one would be easier to hang on to?

Get the idea?

Gimme' a couple of days for shipping. I just bought a pair off Ebay for my .357 New Model Blackhawk.
I've read nothing but good (superb?) reviews for the Bearpaw grips. They seem to be a fairly well kept secret.
I've been using Pachmeyer presentation grips for years. Thought I'd give Bearpaw a try.
My Blackhawk is accurate as the day is long. Now if these grips perform as advertised, I'll be able to draw more smoothly, get on target faster, shoot more comfortably and more consistently. Guess I'll see for $79.95 + free shipping.

Just received my Bearpaw grips from an ebay purchase.
YES, I am pleased! I'd go so far as to say it's the best accessory purchase I've ever made (along with my Mernickle PS6 SA holsters).
The pictures on ebay don't come close to doing the grips justice.
"Comfortable" is too soft a word to describe them. They are a true enhancement to my gun system and I have ABSOLUTELY no regrets. A beautiful and functional investment.
I would attempt attaching a photo, but you really have to see and feel them up close in your palm to appreciate them. Well worth the $79.50 I paid (and free shipping, too.).
I use to say, "Every Ruger SA needs a Mernickle."
Now I say, "Every Ruger SA needs Bearpaws and a Mernickle."
