Holster for Ruger SR1911CMD

On the shopruger.com website they have holsters listed for the SR1911. My question is will these be the correct size for the Commander model or should I do a generalized search for holsters for the 1911 Commander model. Better yet anyone have any suggestions as to what holsters they would recommend which I would much appreciate. Thanks.
I'm looking for an OWB to wear to and at the range.

When I was looking for a holster for my Full sized SR1911 I looked else where because I wanted something different then what Shopruger.com was offering.
I can tell you this almost every holster manufacture makes holsters for Government 5", Commander 4.25" and officer 3.5" Models if it does not say Commander assume it is for the 5" 1911

I have two uncle mike side kicks, size 15, for my sr9 and sr40, my sr1911 fits pefectly in them, the barrel sticks out about an inch, so the commander will be perfect, "IF" your looking for a cheap option ??

I have a few uncle mike, I like em alot !!

Remember, Ruger Does NOT do their own leather. Not sure who is making leather for them (Galco, or maybe Gould and Goodrich?). Anyway there stuff can be found without the Ruger stamp on it, and quite a bit cheaper too. Smithy.

Welcome to the forum!!!!
I'd check out Simply Rugged. I have a Cuda that Rob built & it's a great holster. It's the pancake style & is very well made. I'd get it with the inside out straps too. Those will allow using it for OWB & IWB carry from the same holster. It does a great job in either carry mode too.

Also, look at Galco. I just got a Galco 'Combat Master' holster for my full-size SR1911, but they make the same model for the Commander size.

The Combat Master is a leather, outside the pants holster for every-day carry. Very comfortable to wear, and holds the 1911 close to the body for concealment.

For USPSA/IPSC-type competiton with the 1911, I use a Ted Blocker holster that makes drawing quicker and easier, but is harder to conceal.

You can't go wrong with the Galco...made in the USA (and in Arizona!) just like your SR1911. Bianchi makes a similar looking holster for just about the same cost, but it is cheaper, with thinner leather, and made in Mexico.

I appreciate the information on the holsters. New to Ruger, but fell in love with them when I picked up an SR40C in December. A little gift for myself. Now I have it, an SR9 (which is really for my boys to use at the range), an SR1911 Commander and in about a week and a half I will pick up the SR1911 that is on layaway. $699 by the way for the two SR1911's. Any updated suggestions for OWB holsters for both the SR40C and/or the Commander?

Thanks!
