| Galco Kingtuck Vs. Crossbreed Supertuck?
So I know there are a thousand options for ccw holsters but the Galco is ava. at the lgs for my 1911 fullsize. Its obviously hot and humid most months here in SC. I was also interested in the Crossbreed but the wait time is not so appealing. Opinions would be welcomed!

I had ordered mine in July & it took under 2 weeks. The founder of Crossbreed just passed away so maybe call & ask what the realistic delivery would be. I luvs mine. I pd a little more for horsehide & ordered the j-clips too. Use your NRA discount if you are in NRA.

Galco produces a good holster, I should know I've bought a drawer full of them over the years. I can't comment on the Crossbreed because I haven't owned one and don't plan on buying one. Instead I've developed and interest in the Old Faithful Holster's Level one kits, DIY kydex and leather holster kits from Zack White Leather.

Its like there is no clear cut winner between the 2

Clear cut winner-no. I give the nod to Crossbreed. The leather formed better to me and it seems like the overall package is a little thinner.

Crossbreed is really good. You won't wear it out right away. Nice thick leather, solid rivets. Get the horsehide. NRA also gets 10% off. Helps with shipping cost. The wait is worth it.
Can't believe Mark Craighead died. That stinks. RIP.

And if so is the horse hide really worth the extra cash?

I have only purchased the horsehide, so I really can't compare. I'm usually cheap, but I decided to pay extra for it and now own several. They have held up well for me. If you use it often, I guess you justify the cost.
This is from the Crossbreed website.
Horsehide is a denser and tighter grained flesh than cowhide. This results in it being more moisture resistant. Customers in very humid climates or who tend to sweat heavily find this to be a useful option as horsehide tolerates dampness better. Horsehide is only available in natural as it's moisture resistance can also cause it to not take dye well. Additionally, the natural finish is very attractive on Horsehide.
Horsehide is a limited option as it is not always available, during times when it is not available, the option will be removed from the selections. In other words, if you see it, you can order it.

I used a galco royal guardsman for years with a full size para p14 steel frame and it was carried for 12 hours a day. I sno longer own a business and otherwise no cccw in NJ. I would buy a Galco every time.

I have a Crossbreed for my Springfield XD9 and it's super comfortable and conceals the full-size service pistol rather well. Crossbreed has a lifetime warranty and from what I've heard they really stand behind their products.
