The last link you posted looks close, but it’s a poor B&W photo, so I can’t really tell. The cheap price is one of those “if it sounds too good to be true...”

This is not my gun, and it is not my photo, but is exactly what I do have minus the box. I forget where I got the photo. I think it was one of the Ruger forums. The medallion in this photo is what I would love to find.

Caryc,
Any way to install those medallions in a Hogue rubber grip? I think they would look really cool on my 4" SP 101.
Thanks.

That last set is a used set, that is why the price is low.

If it was me, I would buy the last set, remove the medallion, paint the black eagle red, and call it done. But it is up to you.........good luck

Grips, Checkered, Plastic, Blk w/ Medallion, fits Unmarked Pre A-100 Frames

Painting the black red is pretty easy as you don't have to be precise. just fill all the black with red, let it dry well, then sand the front of the medallion with some 400-600 wet/dry sand paper and that will take all the paint off the "silver" areas of the medallion.

I would not take sand paper to the face of any of the medallions. I told you how to repaint medallions previously in this thread. They will come out beautifully if done right. Again, it ain't rocket science. Being in the grip business I've repainted my share of them.

Yes, the last set looks close, but those are black and white photos, so it’s hard to see anything. Painting the medallion is no big deal. What makes me hesitant is the statement “Fits pre A-100 unmarked frames”. I have no idea what a “Pre A-100 unmarked frame” is. It says Ruger MK1, but I’ve always thought mine was manufactured before MK was applied to the name of the gun. MK does not appear on my gun. I’ve never heard or, or don’t remember hearing of the A-100 frame. I know mine was manufactured in 1950 with a serial number of 42xx. What is a “pre A-100 unmarked frame”?

They look beautiful, would you insert the medallions on my Hogue grips? If so, what would you charge?
Thanks.

Hmmm. Good question. How about I send you the grips for 2 guns and you install the medallions at $20 per gun. I'd send a check for $50 to cover the return postage.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Thats odd. I stock them and got them from Ruger within the last 6 mo

About the black eagle medallions... I too have purchased them since this was posted.

Also, the last time I ordered medallions, I was told that the Black Eagle Medallions were out of stock, & no longer available by the Ruger C.S. Rep. at Newport, NH. They always check on availability before completing my orders.

It all depends on what access people have to the system. Usually people will only have access on what they need to do their job. The C.S. rep that made that statement probably only saw that the stock on hand was "0". One usually has to go deeper into the system to see if there is a current order in with a vendor.

Although if the system is working properly there should have been an order with the vendor placed when the inventory level on the medallions got down to a certain amount. This is known as "safety stock". An order is usually placed at that time so the inventory is renewed before they actually run out. Of course that only works if the inventory person set things up correctly in the first place.
