| Hogue slip on grips for 2245
Has anyone here used the Hogue slip on hand grips for their 2245?
My 2245 grips are not removable so the only way I can beef them up
is by going with a slip on grip. If there is another style or brand available
could you let me know the brand and if possible what model? Wish the 2245
model I bought had replaceable grips.

Thanks for the link now I'll see if Midway or Cheaper Than Dirt have them as we really don't have any shops here that carry handgun items.

mnh2obuff...I checked with Midway and they have the grip, however none of the users had anything positive to say about it. There was a comment from a fellow in TX. that also used it on his 2245 he gave it a positive review, but then a few weeks later gave it a negative because it shredded when he tried to remove it? All the comments were aimed at the durability of the grip. Just wondering how long you've used it and if you've had any tearing issues? I don't know why anyone would decide to buy a grip and then remove it, is the material that soft that removal would ruin it?

Ssportdog7,
I read some of the same reviews, but since not being one who breaks down my gun that often I thought it was worth a shot. I have not taken it off yet.

I was also puzzled as to why they removed the grip? There's really no reason that I can see.

Are you certain the grips are not removable? I have a 22/45 Lite & at first glance I didn't think the grips were removable, however, on closer inspection I found that all it takes is an Allen wrench to remove them. The grips in the photo are from Hogue and they are for a standard 22/45. Price was very reasonable. $29 if I remember correctly. Good luck |

SD7 ... The standard 22/45 grip frame can be altered to accept regular 1911 grip panels. While it takes a few tools and a little effort, the results can be very good as you can see in the following step by step link (there are several others floating around the internet) Ruger 22/45 Grip Panel Modification ~ by guns672 |

Those mods are nice but all I really want is a better grip that gives me more control, what I don't want is to mess around with a dremel tool. Just a slip on will suit my needs just fine, but I thank you for making me aware of the option.

Slip on should work fine, i have a glock and hogue cndum as my son calls them and both have been off several times, why take them off, bigger hands, smaller hands, depends on who is shooting today.

Buck JM is also correct, the grips on the standard do not come off, but there is a way!
