Suppressors

I now have two Rugers.
When I go to the range, I find myself shooting them more than my 9's.
With all the hype of the Lites I am considering getting one when and if it comes out in the right color.
The Lite has the proper sights for me. Then it has the threaded barrel. This brings me to the point of this thread: the suppressor

Am I correct in understanding that one must pay a Federal tax and there is a waiting period. What suppressor would be good for the Lite that is not a piggy bank breaker?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated since I know nothing on this subject.

Yes you have to pay a 200 dollar tax stamp. And yes there is a waiting period. To make it faster, talk to a lawyer about setting up a trust bank account. That way you don't have to get it signed off and you don't have to worry about finger prints. It takes a lot of the waiting out of it. If you can find a place that has one in stock, take all your "trust" paperwork with you and buy from him. There will still be a wait period. But it will be several months shorter. If you have any more questions about trust or suppressors feel free to PM me.

YES! I saw a list of states that allow civillians to own suppressors, and under Komifornia instead of just a "No" it said HELL NO!

On a side note, I have a Ruger 22/45 with the threaded barrel, and I bought it with the intention of adding a supressor later on. Ruger says it is threaded with the same pitch that allows popular muzzle accessories, they do not specifically state suppressors, but we all know they mean it.

Yes those are teh sound reducing devices that people in free america ie not nj or california can have. One of my wifes cousins from germany was visiting and he is a shooter he asked if I would take him shooting. So I got a few pistols and ammo and 2 sets of muffs. He looked puzzled and wanted to know where my suppressors were. I explained thier legal staus in the Us and he was suprised. He explained which I had heard that in germany especially ourside using a suppressor was considered being a good neighbor and did not have criminal association.
