I'm curious how often you all rotate magazines for CCW/HD? My understanding is that prolonged compression on the magazine spring will not accelerate wear, but constant loading/unloading does. I keep one 16rd in my FNP9 and one loaded mag as backup next to my loaded SP101 and a speed loader in the "quick" safe for HD. When I get my LC9 I'll likely rotate between 2 mags for CCW once I'm confident in the gun.
Ideally I'd like to empty the Mags once every 1-2 months max by going to the range, but we all know sometimes things happen which prevent us from getting out as often as we'd like.
What are your thoughts and and opinions on this?

In my experience with magazines, it generally takes a lot of "cycles" to weaken them so I have become a bit strange in my way of dealing with it. My "reserve" mags are also my "range mags" the mags I routinely carry in and with the gun are not cycled that frequently I use my spares for firing the less expensive ammo I shoot in bulk. my Carry mags probably get short dry about 3 times a year, but are unloaded and cleaned about once a month if they have been heavily carried.
As an example, I just oicked up a Glock 20. It came with 2 10 rd mags and I ordered 2 15s with it. I will order more if I like the gun, but the tens will become the "range mags". (I find that simply emptying a 15 at the range doesn't tend to do much for my practice anyway) I will run the 15s I have to check them for function and the ones I purchase in the future will likely join the "range team"

When I carried a semi auto in my store I never left the mags loaded for more than a week. I also made it a point to have at least 4 mags per pistol. My over doing it but you cannot be too careful.

It's my understanding that keeping a mag loaded does notwear it out.
I have owned a Glock for 21 years & I personally have never heard of someone having a problem with a Glock factory mag. My 2 17 round mags are the ones that came with the gun, & 20,000+ round later are OK!
