I could definately be worng but I believe the grips on the hunter are the same as on the Super Blackhawk. Do you have the standard or the Bisley Hunter, my nephew has the standard model and I know he purchased some aftermarket grips for it which he likes. I believe Pachmeyers would also fit if you don't mind going with a rubber grip; they are quite comefortable to shoot. I just bought a Bisley Hunter model and will probably wind up making my own grips for it out of a chunk of macassar ebony I have.

Gunblast still has the best write up on the various frames. I don't know of a different screw patter for just the Hunter model as it should be the same as the rest of the Super Blackhawk frames. The standard Blackhawk frames are usually the frames that you have to figure which one you have. I can't swear Gunblast is still up to date though and as such a call to Ruger would be the best way to verify what frame you have.

Still looking....

Thanks guys, but i believe unless I have old info, you are both either wrong about the super blackhawk sharing the same grip as the hunter model or I am missing something. I ordered directly from Lyman, who owns Pacmayar and they sent me the wrong grip. I called their customer service and they looked up all other options and said they currently did not make a compatible option. I will look into contacting Ruger and finding out the frame number or something, but so far no luck.....
By the way, I hunt whitetails with this gun using hot and heavy loads, so it is for reducing felt recoil and improving accuracy that is my goal here, therefore rubber or plastic is my preference as the stock wood laminate grip is far too slippery for my taste...Any other help would be appreciated. Also looking for a gunsmith interested in fitting this gun for a sling...adding two sling swivel mounts if you know of any experienced with this...

The Hunter grip frame and the Super Blackhawk with the square back trigger guard take the same grips.

There may be some confusion from the fact that the .22 cal Hunter model has an XR3-red sized grip frame on it.

Unhappy Got the answer

Okay, I called Ruger and talked to the expert and they tell me what I suspected, No one currently makes one for the Hunter model. Its grip has features of both the normal blackhawk and the super blackhawk and does not use the same grips....For now its Factory or Custom. Discourging since I cant afford the Custom work needed.

I think I have the standard, Bisleys have the shorter distance between bottom of grip and trigger, right? Mine is not the sharper curved handle I think the bisley is... where did your nephew find his grips? maybe more research could help me out

I have to admit this is one time i thought Cary may be wrong but he's not ! I have both a SBH and SBH Hunter and just got done taking the grips off both and putting them on each other and they fit just fine , so to the OP it looks like any grip that is made for a SBH with the square trigger gaurd should works just fine on your Hunter

The rubber grips have a filler behind the trigger guard and are not interchangeable between the SBH & Hunter models.
Standard grip panels without the filler are interchangeable.
