Good point. Makers can and do have different methods of measuring. However I've usually found this information on their website.

Galco Contour belt. 1.5", double thickness. Extremely durable, been wearing the same one daily for over 3 years. Pricier than some others but I think it has been worth the extra coin.

Two belts and four holsters from Crossbreed. Love 'em all. Never had the desire for anything else.

My belt was locally made, 1/4" thick, 1 1/2" wide and 2" longer than my regular size.
Holds every thing up.... including my pants!!

I bought a Bianchi online but returned it as it was poorly made and too flexible. I then bought a Filson double-layer (1 1/4" Double Belt | Filson and it's perfect. The 1 1/4 width fits even my suits and dress pants, which I wear at work, and looks great. Holds the holster nice and tight, and will last a long time.

I had one custom made in Gatlinburg TN by a local craftsman. You pick the style, color and buckles. Its beautiful and really well made. Took six weeks to get it... he is that busy but worth the wait.

I'm currently using a 5.11 casual belt.
pros:
-its very stiff and gives good support
-It only cost about $30
cons:
The finish gets scratched very easy
The leather around the buckle is pretty worn looking after wearing for about a year.

Most of the time I use a black police inner velcro belt. It works well, stays in place and is easy to adjust. Surplus stores around here carry them for about 15-20 dollars.

The best non-leather carry belt I've seen is this one: Original S.O.E. Gear. I plan to order one at the end of the current diet plan.

Jerry Bissel Gun Belts. 55 dollars shipped. Handmade and double thick. I have one and I highly recommend it. Look into them. You wont be sorry. Put in his name and read the feedback on different sites. Tells you all you need to know.

because of several favorable reviews I've seen (youtube)/read(other gun forums).....they were right too!.....for 29 bucks the quality is awesome... seems like it will last forever
+1 on the Amish belt! Best leather belt I've ever used and the price is definitely right.

I also use the Wilderness Tactical 5-stitch belt and it is great as well.

Looks pretty comfortable. I've got a Galco Cop belt. I love the belt, but due to my "overhang" the buckle can get uncomfortable if I sit up for a long time, like I do working. How is the comfort on the Amish belt, if you have a similar issue?

I wear this every day. It's very comfortable. It also holds up my pants very well. Even with my 10 pounds of gear. I've had it for 5 months now, it still looks brand new. It's durable and STRONG. I recommend this belt very highly.
