You will get varying opinions on this... but I've yet to hear of an actual case where the springs were damaged even from indefinite storage while loaded... mostly just people claiming they "heard" or "think" it could.

My opinion... they are made to hold rounds that way, and to stand up to repeated loading and unloading from use, why would sitting stationary wear them out? It wouldnt.

I've heard yes and no and can find all day debates on it.I have more than one mag for each pistol and I keep one loaded to capacity and just cycle them out every other month or so.I actually had a new one for my SR9 that seemed "stiff" and kept it loaded to capacity for months and it never changed till I cycled it by shooting with it several times.Good luck and welcome.

I have read that it used to be an issue but is no longer. Modern materials and production methods was the reason for the change. I have an old savage .32 auto. I believe it is a model 1903 or 1906 (memory issue). My grand father carried it in his pocket when he delivered livestock or produce. The original mag with it is shot. The spring isn't strong enough to feed the next round before the slide closes. That mag stayed loaded for probably 20 years. So that kinda supports the article I read about old springs. I have no personal experience with a modern mag doing the same thing.
