Question SR1911 aftermarket grips

I am been suffering from a severe case of drooling since the release of the SR1911. I will get one when all of the stars align and the ocean tide is in.....lol... It mainly a function of local availability and slapping down those hard-earned greenbacks.

Though I like the stock look, I have been thinking about some aftermarket grips. I like to look of these grips from the Ruger store, a darker color to contrast with the low-glare stainless steel.

SR1911-Silverblack-Dymondwood-Grips-Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.

I would be interested in hearing other's comments and thoughts on the grips and aftermarket options.

Be safe,

boomer

(sorry, I probably should have posted this in accessories.)

Great! Now I have something else to spend money on while I wait (672 hrs and holding) for mine to come in. I had not seen those, but they look great.

Unless you just want the Ruger logo there are thousands of options for 1911 grips.

I've been eyeing these Altamont - Pistol Grips - 1911 silver black with finger grooves for a two tone 1911 Commander.

I bought some Altamont inserts for my SP101, and they are nicely made.

Google will provide literally thousands of grip options for a 1911 from pennies to pricey.

I'm going to order a couple different grips but not until I have the SR1911 in my hand. Ruger has some sharp looking grips. Geeting them before the gun will just make the wait seem longer.

I have always loved my Alumagrips but those "Don't Tread On Me" grips look awesome.

I like the wood that it came with out of box, that was the style I had been looking for. But now that I have it, have been thinking maybe get some simple grips, keep the stock looking nice.

FYI, here is a post over on XDtalk where one member put on Alumagrips - a nice look I think: I Pulled the Trigger on a Ruger SR1911 - XDTalk Forums

That's one of the problems with a 1911, so many grips to choose from.

Likewise, the wood out of the box looks great, but black grips would look really sharp. I know from my Kahr K9 that rubber grips feel awesome when you hold it, and absorb some recoil too.
