Picture Request - Grip Choices for Stainless New Vaquero

The left grip panel on my stainless New Vaquero is chipped and missing a piece, so I am contemplating to buy a set of Altamonts for it, either bonded ivory or simple rosewood grips.

Show me the grips on your NV, please!

I like the Altamont imitation stag, as shown here on the Single Seven. Not the real thing, but not bad and also comfy.

Anybody else have a problem with the Altamont grips? Not so much in general fit, which is about par for the course these days, but behind the triggerguard. The last couple of sets I got were pretty squared off and blocky and became uncomfortable to shoot after a while.

You could go the custom route, but they're pretty pricy.

Not a new Vaquero in the bunch, but you can get an idea from the terrible pic. These are Eagle checkered walnut, stag, Esmeralda Brazilian somethingorother, Ruger factory walnut, and a pair of the Ruger factory simulated ivory just for kicks. Personally, I feel the darker the better on stainless. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the photos, guys. I still haven't completely decided but will probably go with faux ivory. I do not want to spend a lot of money on the grips for this fairly inexpensive gun but this revolver is a great shooter and much more accurate than the pretty Italian SAA clone that is in the same photo.

I might just fit a piece of wood to repair the grips for now but keep the photos coming, please.

I ordered the Altamonts last week, $34.10 with shipping. The fit was poor; there was a gap to the frame since they missed a relief cut for the mainspring housing. I cut that with a Dremel and as a result have well fitting and good looking grips now.

My New Vaquero has the warning on the bottom of the barrel, can anyone tell me when that change was done, please?
