Mark IV grips

I have orded a new IV davidsons says allocated.
Anyone here have one?
Will Mk III grip panels fit on a IV? I like the fake ivory ones on a blue gun.
I wanted a blue one as I already have Three (3) Mk II's in stainless and a 4 digit
Red label. I'm new to this forum and just hope you folks are as easy on me as other forums have been. Oh, the Red label is a keeper!

We have the pistols in stock. 40118 and 40103

NO the grips will not work

As of now only known common parts are the bolt, recoil spring, magazines and sights.

Ruger does sell a set of Target Grips for the MK IV.. I have ordered a set for mine..

By the way ALLOCATED at Davidsons mean all products being made have already been assigned - most likely to their dealers. I bought mine last week at my LGS and a very good price at $200 less than MSRP.

I've heard Altamont Company will be coming out with these on their website soon! You can email them and they will put you on a list.

Mark III grips will NOT work directly with the Mark IV. If you are willing to work on Mark III grips you can get them to work with the Mark IV.

Screw locations are the same for the Mark II, III, IV

To use a Mark III grip on a Mark IV you have to account for a number of changes.

1. Mk IV has a safety on the right side. Ruger just takes off the top left corner of the right grip to accommodate this. The right safety can be removed. Ruger provides a spacer to do this.

2. Mk IV has a hinged lever for the safety on the left side. You will have to undercut the left grip to allow for this.

3. The slide release is changed on the Mk IV. You will have to sand down the top left corner of the left grip to accommodate slide release movement.

ALTAMONT already has SIX models of RUGER MK IV Grips available for purchase. By the looks of them I would not be surprised if the original RUGER TARGET grips are made by ALTAMONT.

Grabagun.com website currently shows Mk. IV pistols at pretty good prices. Blued ones, stainless ones. Target and hunter models. Go shopping.

Here is my modified RUGER MK IV HUNTER with the Ruger Target Grips. In addition I installed the VOLQUARTSEN MK IV TRIGGER ACCURIZING KIT and I replaced the original HUNTER V SIGHTS with traditional SQUARE RUGER TARGET SIGHTS. I do not like the SIGHT PICTURE that the FIBER DOT makes in the V Groove.

The gun is super accurate with the new sights and the VQ Trigger at 2 pounds vs the standard 7 pound Ruger trigger.
