Question about a m77

I have a m77 mark II .300 mag
I was wondering if it is possible to change the bedplate* out for a different that will accept a detachable mag

and yes I have already tried to search

Yes, and No.
This gets brought-up every so often.
Can it be done? Of course it can, all anything takes is money and time.
Can you buy the parts, to drop-in one afternoon? NO

At least in theory, you *Could* buy the parts from a gunsite rifle and swap into a standard hawkeye(stock, mag parts). But I don't know if Ruger will sell them to you or not.

The Gunsite rifles BASICALLY use an AI system. It has been modified from the standard AI fodder, but if Ruger can do it....

For a typical "hunting style" removable clip, I personally would look into a Browning A-Bolt type system. I would imagine you could tweek that to work in a Ruger with very little fuss.
