M77 Hawkeye 30-06 all kinds of questions

Hey everybody im new to this forum and to shooting alike, i bought my first gun the m77 about 10 months ago or so and ive done lots of cleaning and reading and shooting so far. deer season just opened a few weeks ago and i got my first one just last weekend (nothing to brag about but hey i got one haha). anyway enough with the quick background and on to the questions.
when shooting a few weeks ago i had one round in particular that was a little odd, a little smoke came from around the bolt and while actioning the bolt (its a bolt action incase not all in this model are) it was much more difficult to action back and eject the round then normal, i was carful with it trying to look into the action to make sure i didnt have something jammed where i would be marring something badly and everything seemed clean when i picked the round up the primer was missing from it and i dont know if this happened in the barrel or when it hit the floor, either way i decided that was it for the day until further inspection and asking a few questions to some more experinced fellas i know, i cleaned and inspected the bolt and barrel as well as i know how and never saw anything i knew to recognize as an issue, i took the rifle out and fired it again after the people i talked to said it could have been just one unlucky round, after firing again it was fine through about 20 rounds or so, i also inspected the spent brass for anything that i had read as warning signs of major issues, when i looked again at the round that had lost its primer i did notice a faint ring around the brass close to the bottom of the round, the next time i shot i had one more do this, since then i switched ammo and i havent noticed the ring on any other spent brass, could this be a sign of just a type of ammo that my rifle didnt care for or is this cause for concern and i need to either learn more or find a gunsmith? its only happened to 2 rounds that were from the same box of ammo, is there anything else that i can check at the house or anything that i should pay particular attention to?
also during my major cleaning before the season started i tried to take loose the main screw inside of the mag case so that i could thouroughly clean and inspect the trigger assembly and the thing wouldnt come off i tried every mechanic trick i know (i used to be a mechanic by profession so ive got a few tools that are handy) short of using an impact driver and i didnt want to go that far without some more knowledge and advice, i put enough torque on this screw that the head started to strip and thats where i stopped so i couldnt sheer the screw then be out of business until i drill and tap etc etc etc.
also is there any other advice or specifics about this gun that you only learn through years of knowledge? if so itd be nice to hear about them to try to stay ahead of the learning curve, anyway sorry for the thesis but thanks for any help of advice from anybody, thanks for listening!!

PLEASE VIEW POST BELOW AS I GVE A METTER SUMMARY INSTEAD OF THIS MASSIVE POST, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP ON THESE ISSUES!

just to shorten up what i mentioned in the huge post above, my main concern is after firing a certain round the bolt was hard to action back when i looked at the round the primer was missing (not sure if this happened in the barrel or when it hit the ground) and upon further inspection it has a faint ring around the brass toward the bottom of the brass. i cleaned and inspected the bolt and chamber/barrel and didnt see anyhting out of the ordinary, i went to shoot again later and it was fine, a few times later i had one more round do the same thing, it was from the same box as the first.

could this be bad rounds? or just a round my rifle doesnt like or is this a sign of something more serious with the rifle? is there anything i can inspect myself for this issue?

This seems (to me) to be an ammunition issue, not a rifle one. It seems that you've come across a couple of seriously overcharged rounds.

I would steer clear of that ammo type or even manufacturer, and keep notes (brand, caliber, bullet type, lot number etc) and even pictures with your phone of the ammo that gave you those rounds because documentation always comes in handy.

Edit: Almost forgot, try and take pictures of the bulged out cases with blown out primers as well (side view and base view that allows the brand/caliber/lot number to be read) for documentation.

A difficult-to-cycle bolt and blown out primer pockets are signs of excessive pressures. Stop using that ammo and save your face. You didn't say whether or not it was factory ammo or reloaded ammo. If factory, contact the manufacturer and tell them what you told us. If reloaded, well, you take a chance using someone elses handloads. I'd warn against it. Stick with factory stuff and I'd have a competent gunsmith look your rifle over. Show him a case.
Congrats on the deer.

it was factory ammo, ive got the box at home with the last few rounds but yea i def stopped using those at the time to try to see what was the issue before i hurt myself or compound a problem, i am looking into handloading though but im still pretty fresh on everything around firearms so im still trying to do good research and weight the options before making stupid mistakes, anybody have any favorite threads for newbie reloaders or favorite loads for their 30-06 specifically their hawkeyes?
i kind of thought that the problem was the ammo and too much something seeing as i could def feel a different kick but its hard to tell from one to the other thought maybe i just didnt get comfortable first or i made a mistake, but i'll def document the ammo and i'll post what it was up here for anybody to see as a possible warning if theyve had the same happen, i know it was a winchester php but i'll get the specifics and lot # from the box to post here once i get home
hopefully if the weather is good enough i'll be spending my day in the woods working on a deer thats worth bragging about but thanks for the congrats and for the advice and knowledge!
